Does anyone know anything about the end of the world on December 21, 2012?
I mean, what is "said," to happen on that day.
The 2012 idea is that the Mayan Calender ends the mark of an era in December of 2012, though I'm sure you have the day not quite right. Basically the Mayans worked out a celestial ca lander cycle that goes about 15 or 26 thousand years, then starts over again. That is when this era cycle is supposed to end and the next gets ready to begin. It was never meant as an end of the world, just change, serious change on a large scale, but not the end.
Scientifically speaking, astronomers are leaning towards the idea that there is a wobble in out solar system's tilt where the sway in each direction is about as long as the Mayan Calendar era. This the warble is supposed to be reaching its end around that time. I don't know how many hundreds of years it might take to start back on the return warble but I don't imagine this world is going to not feel some strange shifting on the crust level. Just a thought.
