2012 predictions
is anybody else confused/concerned about the 2012 predictions?
when researching colloidal silver as a cure for staph the 2012 thing seems recently to be popping up and went on google and there are pages of links about the end of the world mayan prophecy winter solstice december 2012... found the wikepedia page very informative and without the "new age" hysteria...thoughts and comments appreciated.
The only people that are confused about it are the uneducated or the gullible.
Why would any rational person think anything will happen in 2012:
- because of a fictitious planet that can't hit us?
- because of a comet that isn't there?
- because of pole shifts that take thousands of years to happen?
- because of alignments of the sun and the galactic plane that happens every December?
- because of planetary alignments that can’t ever happen?
- because of an ancient calendar moving from the current cycle to a new one?
It’s a hoax that started in 2003 – I am surprised that some people still don’t get that.

2012 Predictions
Can Anyone Explain The Predictions About 2012?
Today in school, people were going on about 2012 and how the world's going to end and all that. Well, call me stupid, but until then I hadn't heard anything about it. So I asked someone and they said there was gonna be an Ice Age or whatever.
So... could someone explain to me what exactly the 2012 predictions are? And why do people think that it's going to happen?
Alright, there is a lot of Media stupidity surrounding this issue so it is best that you make sure to research what has been said in addition to what I have said because Knowledge is best in this situation.
Okay, the story about 2012 is that is the year that the Mayan calendar ended, SO people automatically assume that we are all going to die. The truth is, the Mayans disappeared a Millenium ago and no one knows why. All we know is that they say things are going to change in 2012 - more specifically 12-21-2012. This is the last day of the calendar.
Now, for the record. The mayans survived a lot of environmental devastation, and they were very good at mapping the seasons and stars. The bad weather and environmental issues are just a few of the things they predicted when they based their calendar off of what they had seen personally. Also, they say there will be a great change for humanity. This is not, let me repeat, NOT a Armageddon prophecy. They just believe that people will advance.
However, hollywood has to sensationalize things and they have convinced people that 2012 is the end of the world, just like they tried to convince people that Nostradamus predicted the end of the world in 2000. So, I guess interpretation is really up to the individual, but I for one will not be worried about the next coming years
