Every one is saying No the world will not end on this date. But, i've been doing a lot of research & you just don't know. I want someone who has done way more research then me to answer this question. I don't wanna hear a "NO" just because someone doesn't think it will, but have no logic to why. I need to know specifically why someone says yes or no. & Btw, i've done research on the galactic alignment & it seems pretty REAL to me.
I don't know what kind of research you've done, but real scientists haven't predicted any unusual alignments on December 21, 2012.

on the I Ching there was this guy that died in 2001 andhe found a pattern on the I ching and converted it onto the time graph accuratly nailing everyhting from war world 1 world war 2 all that and the time line ended dec 23 2012,and the mayan isthe most accurate calender ever made and that goes way back wen and that ended on the same year,and proficies of the real marlin and some old lady predicting every tragity and innovations that happened and both them and said the world will end 2012.honestly I dnt believe its going to happen.i just find it facinating and if it does happen i prob wont care cuz its like a week after my birthday so ill be SHlTFACED!!all thru dec.
Dr. David R. Hawkins mentions in one of his books that all doomsday/end of the world prophecies have come and gone.
12/21/2012 is the date that earths magnetic poles will be realigned. So naturally there will be significant changes to the earth, some violent some not.

I'm not sure if I believe it or not because of all the scientific facts that back up the statement. If the world were to end, what would probably happen? Earthquakes? Floods?

This 2012 stuff is a scam and way to make money off of people’s fears. It maybe true that that mayan calendar ends but, it doesn't mean the world is going to end just because of that. Did you know that one of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years? The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world and wasn’t meant to be. The Mayan Calendar has to end sometime just like other calendars. You know what is sad? People may commit suicide over this thinking its the end of the world. Or maybe some people would get unwise with their money and spend it all like crazy and be in thousands of dollars in debt, just because they thought the world would end. Then they have to pay it off later and deal with the stress of those bills. That's why those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished and nobody could predict the future.
From my research of this 2012 stuff I found out that, Planet X (Nibiru) isn't going to hit the Earth it doesn't exist. Then second, the Earth’s magnetic poles are switching everyday, this isn't going to happen all in just 1 day. This process takes thousands of years and throughout geological history there has been may pole switches and life has still survived. Third, I hear that people are saying these poles will switch in one day due to a black hole. That's NOT true. The nearest black hole to our galaxy is 1600 light years away and we don’t have to worry. Forth, Sun will be lined up with a sunspot, but it doesn't mean it will wipe out all life on Earth. One time ago, Earth was lined up with a sunspot and people were on it and everybody didn't just die. It just disrupted radio waves and it may cause a disruption. Fifth, there is not going to be catasphoic earthquakes. Sixth of all, no coment will hit Earth or asteroids and that can’t be predicted. Seventh, these cultures such as the Japanese, Mayans, Japanese and Egyptians didn't predict such a thing. Finally, If you have been watching the Hysteria Chanel about 2012 or anything like that, all they are just trying to do is scare people so they can make money.
Each time the end the world is predicted. They are always wrong. Here are all the predictions of when the world would end and each time they where wrong. Every year there is a prediction like this. I'm sure that if 2012 doesn't happen, they will think of something else. Through out history the end has been predicted but has never happened. Also, think about this. If the Mayans were able to predict the future, why couldn't they see what would happen to their society in the future?

What are some theories and facts to back up my opinion that the worl WILL NOT end in 2012?
So everybody keeps talking about the end of the world and i wanna be able to reply and sound sure of my self when i say the world will not end. When people ask me why i dont think it will end i want a good answer.
Well, here's the thing. The Mayan calendar ends in the year 2012. At least a part of it ends and then begins again like our calendars have years that end and then start again. They did not predict that the end of the world will happen. People assumed that it is what they meant and some companies said that it is true so that people will pay money to live. Crazy, right? Well, anyway, the year of 2012 on the Mayan calandar is actually on a completely different date than the 2012 on our calendar so even if they predicted something that would happen, it would not be a couple years from now. We don't really know when the world might end and we shouldn't really worry about it. All these disasters are happening and we need to worry about them but not panick or anything about some fake predictions or rumors.

i am writing a speech about the ending of the world and i need a good introduction and facts about 2012.
The only thing special about 2012 is that it comes after 2011 and before 2013. All this doomsday fear is nothing but rubbish created by pseudo-scientists, religious fanatics and conspiracy theorists to extract money from gullible people with their unfounded, badly written books. Remember all the year 2000 fuss which amounted to absolutely nothing.

I read 2012 isn't the end of the world, its in fact a new begining in time?
Some modern mayans even say it is a cause for celebration, not the day of the apocolypse. They predicted that for much later in time. Also I read almost 90% of Nostrodamous prediction were wrong.
There won't be any physical event or change and there won't be any other sort of change. When 21st December 2012 arrives and Planet X or Nibiru has once again failed to appear, there is no sign of a pole shift, the galactic alignment turns out to be a damp squib and we haven't been scorched by any solar flares, the woo-woos will proclaim it's a "new beginning" or a "change in consciousness". In reality, nothing will change and everything will carry on just as before.
