surviving tips What are some tips for surviving 8th grade?
How do you keep organized?
What school materials do I need?
How to get good grades?
Also, how to avoid being teased/made fun of?
YAAAAY! I'm going to 8th grade tooo! I'm soo freakin' excited. I'm gonna wear a romper on the first day of school. Omg, those are so cute. OKAY, ANYWAYS. How to get good grades? Well, actually TRY. Do your hardest every time. < Hahh, that's what she said. If you have trouble, ask a friend who's good at that subject. Last year, I totally slacked off & got 3.99s for the first three quarters because I was too busy with friends and stuff. Yeah, you may say that it's not that bad.. but I'm an Asian and that makes all the difference. The last quarter, though, I actually tried & I ended up getting a 4.03 or something along those lines. It was weird, though, cause the most you could ever get is a 4.0. Anyways, yeah.. that story was totally unnecessary.. Organized? HAHHH. I'm never organized. Screw organization. If you can get your work done, no need for organization. Welll.. I NEVER get teased/made fun of cause I'm friends with everybody.. and by everybody I mean EVERYBODY. Hahahah. Last year, I was friends with all the 6th graders, all the 7th graders, and 8th graders. It's super helpful to know everyone if you want to run for ASB. I ended up getting more than half of the votes when I ran against two other people for president. So yeah, just be super bubbly & be nice to everyone! Ohh, and always be a good person. If you see someone getting picked on, stand up for them. Good luck!
surviving tips Any tips for girls for surviving middle school?
I'm junior high on August 17 so about 3 weeks and me and my friends are freak nervous any tips for surviving?
Im starting 6th grade
Don't piss off the upper classmen, that is like social death. Study so you will pass and pay attention in class. Don't change yourself for other people. Make friends, but not the ones who will use you and ignore you. You'll do fine, don't worry.
I am planning on taking a camping trip of sorts with a friend of mine. We will be going into the forest for two weeks as our last trip before we have to go to college. We've already planned most of the items we need to survive, along with bringing a hunting rifle for both protection and hunting (yes I know about a hunting license already), but are there any tips that anyone could provide us? Or feel free to share a story you've had in the wild too
Have you thought about where you are going to get your clean drinking water from? You can start off with whatever amount of water you bring along to your campsite, but that will not be enough to last for two weeks. Make sure you bring along gear that you can purify water taken from the wilderness.
How much food are you planning to bring? Military-issue MRE's and freeze-dried backpacking food products are what I would bring if I was going on this camping trip. While you might be able to cull some wild game on this camping trip for your food, I would never count on that actually happening. You would also have to know what you are doing when you field dress whatever you kill.
For example, if you kill a bear, you will have to make sure that you do not eat its liver - you will likely get sick if you do. You would also have to cook the meat from whatever you killed very thoroughly over a hot fire, and if it is from a bear, that meat will most likely be diseased until it does get cooked very thoroughly.
Unless you are planning to sleep in covered hammocks at night, make sure to bring at least two tarps - one to use as a groundsheet to put underneath either your tent, or just you and your sleeping bags, and one to suspend over just you in your sleeping bags, or over your tent, as an extra layer of protection from the rain, because sometimes the rain fly that comes with some tents is just not enough to keep everything dry on the inside of the tent.
Make sure to bring adequate gear to provide yourselves with protection from mosquitoes and other insects. It never hurts to bring more than one type of gear for this purpose.
Make sure to bring along some adequate first aid supplies, up to and including supplies for the first aid treatment of snake or insect bites, severe lacerations, severe incisions, gunshot wounds, and blunt force trauma injuries.
Having adequate communication gear (cell phones and/or decent two-way radios) could really help you out in an emergencies. Your cell phones may or may not work in the area where your campsite is, but decent two-way radios will work anywhere, although they can be adversely affected by terrain features such as hills and ravines. Having a radio that receives NOAA weather alerts could help you out too, along with a handheld GPS receiver, or a location beacon, or just a compass with a decent topographic map of the area you will be camping in.
Bringing along at least one 100-foot length of some of that 7-strand, 550 lbs-test paracord would be a good idea too, along with a decent multi-tool, folding saw, folding shovel, fire-starting supplies, and duct tape for campsite repair purposes.
Good luck on your camping trip.
P.S. Whoever gave me a "thumbs down" on this answer is a tool.
