if you are going by the aztec calender, look again, the aztecs predicted a change, not the end of times. In fact, their calender actually goes on for another hundred years at least. No, if you are talking about the NASA predictions (google sunspots in 2012) then it is a real possibility that all electrical items not inside a Faraday cage may blow and stop working. Just read up on the predicted event. It will be harmless to humans but not electronics. There have been simialr outbreaks of solar activity in years past, but never when we had so much fragile electronics. Canada suffered 6million people without electricity some years ago because of solar flares, Hawaii had transformers fried when a high altitude explosion was detonated as a test by the U.S.
EMP is real, and one single atomic bomb exploded in the atmosphere over the central us would destroy all our electronics. So, a sailboat? yes, except you would lose electronics. A power boat, no, it would not run.

You don't need to worry about surviving a complete fake and hoax event. 2012 as a doomsday date is a complete 100% fabrication.
Planet X does not exist anywhere in the sky. There are no large Near Earth Objects headed our way in 2012. The galactic alignment between the sun and the Earth occurs twice per year every year. The planets never actually all align in a straight line as viewed from outside the solar system.
Even NASA has setup a web site to debunk this hoax.

I saw a show that said depending on our decisions as a planet we could go on past 2012 to 3000 and something (I can't remember the exact year). It said something is definitely going to happen in 2012, but our choice about what happens will determine how bad it will be and if our civilization survives.What are your comments?
