end of the world 2012 reasons 2012 the end or not? Reasons?
You know about the whole 2012 end of the world thing. I was just wondering, is there any reasons why it is not going to happen???? Because every time the subject comes up rather on the internet or just with my friends there are hundreds of reasons why it is going to happen but none why it isn't. Everybody always just say's " Omg that's such crap" or "They said it was going to end in 2000!!!" I just wanted to know if there are any reasons or if there just saying it isn't just to keep them self from getting scared?

For every one of the pieces of trash that are trotted out by the dooms-sayers and uneducated about why the world will end in 2012, there is at least one valid and scientifically accurate reason why that piece of trash is just that - trash.
Trash reason why it will end in 2012: The planets will all align in 2012 and the gravitational effect will destroy the Earth.
Reason #1 why that is trash: the planets will NEVER align, so the "gravitational effect" won't occur.
Reason #2 why that is trash: even if the planets did align, since they have no effect on the Earth now, how will appearing to be in a single line from our point of view suddenly increase gravity?
Trash reason why it will end in 2012: The planet Nibiru will approach close to the Earth and destroy us.
Reason #1 why that is trash: there is no planet Nibiru.
Reason #2 why that is trash: if Nibiru did exist and was going to come close to the Earth in 2012 we would have seen it in our skies by now - the entire planet would be able to see it as a bright disk in the sky every night.
Trash reason why it will end in 2012: The sun will line up with galactic centre and the energy of the galactic centre will disrupt the sun's magnetic field and destroy us.
Reason #1 why that is trash: the sun lines up with the galactic centre (from our point of view) every year on the December solstice.
Reason #2 why that is trash: how can energy from the galactic centre, 26,000 light years away and hidden behind clouds of dust and gas, suddenly affect us if the sun aligns with the centre?
Get the idea? Behind every piece of trash that makes up the pile of horse-puckey that is this hoax, there are scientific facts to disprove it.

I was watching a weird video yesterday on the History Channel, and basically there is a legend that the last day on the Mayan calendar is December 21, 2012. Supposedly, this means the world will end that day.
Do you believe this could be true? I know a lot of things happened in the past, such as Y2K and June 6, 2006.

Probably not.
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

2012 December 21 End of the World?
I watched this show on tv about 2012. I'm sure you all heard of it. Well, the got really into it. And I have to admit it, it has concerned me now.
A whole bunch of religions have predicted that the end of the world will happen December 21, 2012. It was predicted for 2000, but when it didn't happen, they had to recalculate due to the leap years or something.
Well, scientists figured out that the sun, planets and black hole will be aligned then, causing the equator to turn, which will cause world wide disaster. They figured out it happened before, and Alaska was once the North Pole.
It's sound stupid. But it has got my concerned. I want to do so much in my life, and would hate for that shit to happen.
Do you think it will happen? How can the alignment thing shift the equator?
The Maya predict an "End of the World as we know it". Great changes are expected to happen, including more natural disasters followed by a change in consciousness and a time of peace.The Mayan Calendars end at the completion of their cycle; much like our calendar ends at the end of the solar year cycle. The ancient Maya were master astronomers, mathematicians as well as master time keepers. Those things which they predicted and their time has come to pass (black holes, eclipses, etc.) have been surprisingly right on. Their "Long Count" calendar was discovered in use by an earlier civilization called the Olmecs. The source of their knowledge of the cosmos is unknown, but thought to be "not of this world".

The following cycles are most relevant to what may occur in 2012. There is the 25,625 year "Galactic Day" and the 5,125 year "Long Count"(Great Cycle). Both of these are set to END and RESTART on the Winter Solstice of 2012 (11:00 UST Dec. 21, 2012):
Let's start with the "Galactic Day". As we travel around the Milky Way galaxy, it is my understanding that we do not remain at a constant distance nor at the same orientation in relation to the black hole at its center; a black hole the Maya refer to as the supreme creator, "HUNAB KU". Instead, we move closer and further from this black hole. As we move in closer, we simultaneously become aligned with the Milky Way's equator or "The Tree of Life" as the Maya call it. Upon doing so, we may become exposed to "HUNAB KU's" opposing magnetic forces which would cause our Sun to eject intense solar flares and Earth to experience a magnetic pole reversal (Pole Shift). In the years that we have been furthest away from ,"HUNAB KU", we have been dense low vibrating energy and have been experiencing our dark spiritual years: These years have been part of the "Galactic Night". As we move closer, we become higher vibrating energy and spiritually enlightened beings: These years pertain to the "Galactic Day". We are currently in transition from Night to Day. The complete cycle takes 25,625 years; approximately the same as what modern science has calculated and named "The Precession Of The Equinox Cycle".

The "Long Count" evenly divides the "Galactic Day" into five equal parts (25,625 years / 5 = 5,125 years). It is my understanding that this cycle also coincides with a natural rhythmic beat that is derived from the black hole at the center of the galaxy in the form of an energy pulse. This energy pulse presumably has multiple effects on us and our surroundings. It not only helps us to become enlightened beings for twenty years, but can reek havoc on Earth by creating larger solar flares which can bring drought, famine, earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis. Twenty years prior to this event, in a period the Maya refer to as "The Time of No-Time", mild energy spurts, from "HUNAB KU", create a shift in consciousness; from left-brain thinking to right-brain thinking (from logical to intuitive). This shift can be experienced all at once or gradually at first moving exponentially as we approach the end of the cycle.

There is one more Mayan Calendar I could share with you called "The Nine Underworlds". It is one of the more recently rediscovered calendars and may be the most important one, in so far as the 2012 prophecies are concerned. It is a calendar that has recorded the state of consciousness from the beginning of time (The Big Bang) to Dec. 21, 2012. At which time, we will have supposedly consciously evolved to completeness to become co-creators with "HUNAB-KU": It maps out "creation" if you will. Okay, I don't care what you say, but I believe in God and I won't stop believing. I'm watching TV right now and this lady and guy are saying that the end of the world will come on Dcember 21 2012! He saying things from the Bible to support his idea that the world is coming to an end. And it makes so much sense to what's happening in the world right now! My parent's always told me that we'll never know when the world's end will come..but do you think it's coming? I'm really scared!
Yeah it's true. The world will end on 21 December 2012. I know because I heard it on the late night radio talk show so it must be true.
My advice is to max out your credit cards, mortgage your home if you have one. Oh yeah, don't forget to repent of your sins on Dec 20, 2012.
