end of the world 2012 ? a hoax or real any1 got the answer ?

It's bull**** ok, nothing is going to happen. i've answered this sort of question so many times on here, and every time it amazes me how gullible people are. My qualifications are that, i spent three and a half years cataloguing and studying temples and structures in Belize's. Although i would never say i'm an expert, i did have the honour of working with people that had worked on such sites for over 20 sometimes 30 years.

I know as fact that not on or in or around any Mayan temple or structure or in any of the four codices that are in existence, or the calender did the Mayans write that the world would change, end, or otherwise be altered in any way or form on any given date. on the contrary the Mayans believed that life was continues, never ending, a cycle that never stopped.

On the 20-12-2012 the 13th cycle will end, On the 21-12-2012 the 14th cycle will begin the only difference this time is we have no Mayan priests around today to write out a new calender and that is all.
In closing i would like if anyone that claims the Mayans said anything to the contrary please would they tell me on or in which temple or structure this is would be found. because i would be very interested in deed.

To be accurate the 13th b'ak'tun or cycle will end on 12.19.19.17.19 (Mayan time) December 20, 2012, followed by the start of the fourteenth b'ak'tun or cycle, 13.0.0.0.0,(Mayan time) on December 21, 2012. To the Mayans life was a never ending cycle.

Interesting video, but I found it pushed the "Doomsday" prophecy a bit. Still, it was both informative and entertaining: It makes one want to know more about their science and astronomy. Thanks for posting it.

The Mayan Calendars end at the completion of their cycle; much like our calendar ends at the end of the solar year cycle. The Ancient maya were master astronomers, mathematicians as well as master time keepers. Those things which they predicted and their time has come to pass (black holes, eclipses, etc.) have been surprisingly right on. Their "Long Count" calendar was discovered in use by an earlier civilization, the Olmecs. To the best of my knowledge, there is no "End of the World" Maya prophecy. Rather, they predict an "End of the World as we know it": Great changes are expected to happen, including more natural disasters followed by a change in consciousness and a time of peace.

Here is a summary of my research into the Mayan Calendars and their predictions for the time leading to Dec. 21, 2012.

The following cycles are most relevant to what may occur in 2012. There is the 25,625 year "Galactic Day" and the 5,125 year "Long Count"(Great Cycle). Both of these are set to END and RESTART on the Winter Solstice of 2012 (11:00 UST Dec. 21, 2012): That is unless we are affected by another 2012 Mayan Prophecy; I'll get back to that later.

Let's start with the "Galactic Day". As we travel around the Milky Way galaxy, it is my understanding that we do not remain at a constant distance nor at the same orientation in relation to the black hole at its center; a black hole the Maya refer to as the supreme creator, "HUNAB KU". Instead, we move closer and further from this black hole. As we move in closer, we simultaneously become aligned with the Milky Way's equator or "The Tree of Life" as the Maya call it. Upon doing so, we may become exposed to "HUNAB KU's" opposing magnetic forces which would cause our Sun to eject intense solar flares and Earth to experience a magnetic pole reversal (Pole Shift). In the years that we have been furthest away from ,"HUNAB KU", we have been dense low vibrating energy and have been experiencing our dark spiritual years: These years have been part of the "Galactic Night". As we move closer, we become higher vibrating energy and spiritually enlightened beings: These years pertain to the "Galactic Day". We are currently in transition from Night to Day. The complete cycle takes 25,625 years; approximately the same as what modern science has calculated and named "The Precession Of The Equinox Cycle".

The "Long Count" evenly divides the "Galactic Day" into five equal parts (25,625 years / 5 = 5,125 years). It is my understanding that this cycle also coincides with a natural rhythmic beat that is derived from the black hole at the center of the galaxy in the form of an energy pulse. This energy pulse presumably has multiple effects on us and our surroundings. It not only helps us to become enlightened beings for twenty years, but can reek havoc on Earth by creating larger solar flares which can bring drought, famine, earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis. Twenty years prior to this event, in a period the Maya refer to as "The Time of No-Time", mild energy spurts, from "HUNAB KU", create a shift in consciousness; from left-brain thinking to right-brain thinking (from logical to intuitive). This shift can be experienced all at once or gradually at first moving exponentially as we approach the end of the cycle.

There is one more Mayan Calendar I could share with you called "The Nine Underworlds". It is one of the more recently rediscovered calendars and may be the most important one, in so far as the 2012 prophecies are concerned. It is a calendar that has recorded the state of consciousness from the beginning of time (The Big Bang) to Dec. 21, 2012. At which time, we will have supposedly consciously evolved to completeness to become co-creators with "HUNAB-KU": It maps out "creation" if you will. No one knows for sure what to expect since it is the first time anyone will have experienced this since the beginning of time. It is much too involved for me to go into, but I found a video that covers it pretty well; albeit kind of long.

Will Doomsday (the end of the world) happen on 12 21 2012?


I'll be fourteen soon, and that's probably going to make you take me less seriously, but i neeeed to know the truth. I've known about 2012 for actually not too long. I've seen the movie, and the more i think about it , the more i get freaked out. I'm not like totally spazzing out, but it really makes me wonder. I'd only be 16 when it happens, &it makes me quite depressed that if it's true, i'll never get the chance to live my life.. or even graduate.

I need FACTS, because it seems like everything i read is, &it all leads to it.
The only things that make it sound like it won't happen, are peoples' opinions.
I seen this one interview , he was a scientist, i think, &it said he thought that in one way
or another, we would all die that day.

Good question.

The answer is not very satisfying however. People believe the 2012 doomsday because they've fallen for a hoax.

Most of the '2012' myth actually originates in several different prior doomsday scenarios. You've got Sitchin's "Nibiru", Nancy Leider's "Planet X", Arguelle's "Mayan Code" and McKenna's "Timewave zero", all rolled into one meta-myth.

When you start digging into the claims made about 2012 you quickly realize that it's not even internally consistent. This person says "planetary alignments" and that person says "alignment with the black hole in the center of the galaxy" and another person says "giant planet entering the inner solar system". None of them make sense individually, and they all make even less sense in conjunction.

Edit: Oh, and Clayton above is correct. The Maya did *not* predict the end of the world in 2012. That's part of the hoax.

Why will the world end in 2012?


I have the evidence of why it wont, but I don't have the evidence of why it will.
I know it wont, but I want the argument as to why people think it will.

There is no evidence whatsoever of why it will end. All you have is a lot of superstitious, unscientific nonsense put about by new-age weirdos and cranks as well as scammers trying to get you to buy worthless books and videos. None of it has any basis in real science. The people promoting this have no knowledge of science. They just like to pretend to be knowledgeable in order to impress the gullible. Don't be one of the gullible.
There is no 'ancient prediction' by the Mayans or anyone else. These were all invented in the last 20 years.
There is no 'mystery planet' about to pass by. Why don't the fraudsters tell us its current location in the sky, so we can all look at it? You decide.
There will be no rare alignment, either planetary or galactic. When was the last alignment that caused us any problems anyway?
There will be no pole shift. A magnetic pole shift is not imminent and probably tens of thousands of years away. A sudden rotational pole shift is a physical impossibility.
The next solar maximum is expected in mid 2013, not 2012 and is expected to be less intense than the last maximum in 2001.
Other predictions such as the photon belt and Terence McKenna's Timewave Zero are just too silly to bother with.
