If a comet appears without a tail does that mean we are looking at it head on?
And if we are looking and seeing it head-on is it coming towards the Earth? The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012.
Someone here on Yahoo put it down as 12/12/2012. I read that Comet 17P/Holmes is in the Northern Skies and looks pretty fuzzy right now. All that dust reflecting light, a comet with no tail.
If you can see its tail then you aren't looking at it head-on. If you were, then the tail would be behind it, out of your view.
And since the Earth rotates about the Sun, if you are seeing it head-on right now then it won't be head-on in a while later because the Earth will have moved out of the way.
2012 end of the world scientific is there any scientific proof or any logical reason to suggest the end of the world on 2012?

Predictors of big changes or doom are astrologers or numerologists, (Jose Arguelles and Patrick Geryl) drug users, (the late Terence McKenna), career frauds or a near psychopath who hears voices in her head and rants at anyone who disagrees with her. The rest are frauds out for any money that might be floating about.
All their "evidence" like planetary alignments, planet X and Nibiru is lies or exaggerations of things that are nearly true like supposed galactic "alignments", but these don't mean anything anyway.
Their precious Mayan calendar predicted nothing, it clicks over in December 2012, maybe. Maybe it has already done so, the date of this is actually uncertain but most of the genuine scholars say 21 or 23 December.
Nostradamus wrote medieval gibberish and it means exactly nothing. The Nostradamus spouters wait till something happens, find a verse and claim he predicted it. They are liars.
No serious scholar would touch Nostradamus' books with a 40 foot pole, the entire subject stinks of superstition and fraud and so only the frauds and the superstitious quote Nostradamus.
Given the abysmally bad quality of the sources of this myth and the lies they bring up as evidence, scientists and anyone else with common sense can say with confidence that the only year in the near future when the world will NOT end is 2012.

Why are people saying the world will end in 2012?
If so why are people still going to college and saving money? Any scientific proof of this? (from NASA maybe?)

right so everyone is going on about the world ending in 2012. I looked it up the other day and the guy we predicted this was called Nostradamus and most of his predictions were true, such has twin towers getting destroyed and princess Diana dying in a car crash, also he predicted that he was going to die and then the next day he died. Then he made the prediction of 2012 when the world is going to end. also in California there is a volcano that has not erupted and it was meant to erupt in 2008 or something like that and if it erupts then it will wipe out USA. Also apparently a meteor is meant to crash into earth because it is heading our way.

No, it isn't. No, you shouldn't believe it.
Nostradamus never predicted any of those things. His predictions were quite vague. He never clearly predicted anything. People who claim that he did only come up with these supposed predictions after the fact.
No volcano is MEANT to erupt at any particular time. If any of the California volcanoes erupted, they certainly wouldn't wipe out the USA.
Meteorites hit the Earth every day. There is no body of any significant size on a collision course with Earth.

Here is an excellent website that covers all the various claims about 2012 and about the charlatans who are promoting it. Go to it and read about the things that have you concerned. They give sources for their information and they aren't selling anything. The others are NASA Senior Scientist Dr. David Morrison, Dr. Donald Yeomans of JPL Near Earth Object Program, and Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium, all saying that the 2012 tripe is….well, tripe.
