So i did and it came up with a wiki ansers thing.

I'm pretty freaked out.

Im Christian and I believe that NO MAN can tell when the earth will end. But, technically...

Supposedly the world isn't exactly going to 'end'. In fact there's some kind of thing that it's going to 'refresh'. Meaning it will basically destroy and renew everything.

So I really don't know. Because it's NOT the end of the world, but it can still be something to be scared of. But it's a positive 'NO' that the world won't end :)

The world coming to an end?


Okay, first off! I have been studying about the Maya's in Social Studies a few weeks ago, and according to the Maya calender it says the world will end on December 23rd, 2012. Is this true?
I have been looking at this over and over again. Since I am a Catholic, I usually beleive the world ends when the coming of Christ arrives to judge us. However, after hearing this information about the Maya's fortelling I am becoming scared.
What are you oppinions on this, like seriously! I know global warming and all can and will cause an ice age, but is that really what is going to happen to life as we know it? But the world coming to an unexpecting end like that? Really, I do want to know when time will come when the earth as we know it will be gone forever. 2012 is VERY close and from what I have been studying in Social Studies, History is is that the world will come to an end on 2012. Is this REALLY true?

well is the world really end, and dont say yes to creep me out. one of my friends were tellling me this, and also saying that the sun was going to blow up because of its instabilty. and the moon is going to crash into the earth someday, and we'll have judgement day.
And i heard it was suppose to be on 6/5/06, but it wasnt and stuff like that. But is the world really going to end? on that day?

Nobody knows but God Himself. Your friend maybe saying that because it is the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. They think the world will end in 2012, but their world ended a long time ago, obviously. The moon won't crash for millions of years. It might not even crash, it may drift away. The Sun has a couple billion years left before it explodes. You shouldn't worry about this in your lifetime.

2012 - The End Of The World, Who Will Survive?



The Mayans beleive that the world will end December 23, 2012. Do you beleive they are right?


Keep in mind the Mayans were one of the most astronomically and mathematically advanced civilizations of their time.
The calendar they had was almost completely perfect, the only thing was it suddenly ended on that date and in their scriptures and somehow basing on the past they were able to figure it out December 23, 2012.

First off, they don't believe the world is ending. It's beginning anew.

Secondly, the date is 12-21-2012, not 12-23-2012.

Two things happen on that date. First, the Mayan Long Count calendar rolls over from 12 Baktuns to 13 Baktuns, not unlike our calendar going from 1999 to 2000, except that a Baktun is 400 years long. The calendar doesn't end. Time doesn't end. The date on the Long Count is 13.00.00.00.00. The next day is 13.00.00.00.01.

The second thing that happens that day is an astronomical alignment between the sun and the Milky way. When the sun rises that morning, it will rise against the dark area of the Milky Way. The Maya believed that area was the birth canal of the universe. Sun coming out birth canal=being reborn.

BTW, the Maya didn't VANISH. There are MILLIONS of them still alive in Mexico and Central America. They just left their cities due to drought and warfare.

Is it true the world's going to come to an end on December 23, 2012?


a lot of people think so. I even watched a movie in S.S. about the mines and they said the same thing. Is this true?

It's not a dooms "day" per se, but a period. 7 years to be exact.
summer 2009- summer 2016
Dec. 21, 2012 is just the midpoint of this 7 year period referred to in the Bible as "the abomination that causes desolation" (subtract 1260 days to find the start and add 1260 days to find the end).

Do you think that the world will really end on December 23, 2012?


i dont even know because we were talking about the enigma of 23 and stuff today and my teacher said the world is supposed to end on 12-23-2012 and ill only be 16 i dont want to die that young!!!!and idk wat subject to put this question under sorry

My son told me to answer this question and he is only nine, and he said no one can predict that but God. I agree stay and live in today tomorrow has never been promised. Do your best today. If your are not a follower of Christ have you consider giving your life to Christ, giving yourself to the Lord this may help you feel more comforted.
