So is 2012 the end of days?


I am sortha scared if 2012 will happen i would like if i heard good news that it won't happen.

Well, I have good news for you. 2012 will not be the "end of days." There is absolutely zero evidence that it will be anything other than an ordinary year. . The 2012 doomsday scenarios are nothing but wild speculation by the scientifically challenged. It is just people making money off books, advertising, "survival kits", and whatever else they can dream up to sell.

Here is an excellent website that covers all the various claims about 2012 and about the charlatans who are promoting it. Go to it and read about the things that have you concerned. They give sources for their information and they aren't selling anything. The others are NASA Senior Scientist Dr. David Morrison, Dr. Donald Yeomans of JPL Near Earth Object Program, and Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium, all saying that the 2012 tripe is false.

Galactic alignment in 2012



what would be the effect of a galactic planetary alignment ie... the 2012 alignment?


The mayan calendar is projecting this alignment to occur in the year 2012.

First, the Mayan calendar isn't predicting anything. It is simply ending one cycle and starting another one.

Second, a galactic alignment and a planetary alignment are two different things, neither of which is happening in 2012.

An actual planetary alignment never happens, because the planets' orbits are not in the same plane. Planetary alignments are apparent alignments only in our view of the sky. The planets are closer to alignment now than they will be in 2012.

There is an apparent galactic alignment every solstice (twice a year).

None of these non-events have any effect on us.

Do you think the world is going to end in 2012? Why or why not?


I have heard so much about the end of the world and I just want to hear what everyone else has to say about it!

No.

No proof.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

well me and the guy who i like and likes me were havin a huge debate ovr it and it just scares me, but ya how mant people side with me???

OK This is my theory.
If you watched that on the history channel.
I think the History Channel and the banks have a contract. See the economy now is not so good. And people that understand from financing tell us that we need to start spending money. Well if they tell you that it's the end of the world in 2012 and it's three years from now. You are most likely wanna live the best live and in order to do that in today's world you need money. Well there are loans interest free for 36 months. And obviously people that believe on everything that they say on the TV will start getting loans and live life. But after three years, when the banks start to want their money, people won't have them and this will be the end of the World for them. So pretty much It's not so true, but if you have other beliefs, it's a different story.
