help I think my female cichlid is sick!?
She is a mature electric blue female. She has these bits of something coming off of her fin tips. And her skin don't look so nice. Like the color gray is broken on her skin and not nice.
I had a 55gal fish tank. With an adult male electric blue, mature electric yellow, a baby mayan, a baby jewel, now three baby acei, big pleco, baby jack dempsey, 2 small south american bumblebee catfishs, 2 stripped racheal catfish, 2 mysterious ivory snail.
it could be a fungus, it's hard to say since we are just seeing a description rather than a pic or in person, but generally fungal infections create little patches of discoloration and can cause the fins to rot. it could also be ich. that is where you have little white spots on the fish. again it is hard to say but it sounds more like a fungus thing, go to any fish store, it is pretty common and the cure is easy to find. i'd get a pic to take to them though.
