So far this is what i have as my introduction paragraph. I'm basically trying to explain Mexico's culture and history. I think its pretty bad i dont know what do you people think i should change or add to it? Or how can i transition to what im going to talk about which is Mexico's Culture and History?
1521, Spain conquers the Pre- Columbian Mesoamerica and colonized the territory as the New Spain. In 1821 New Spain went at war with Spain won the war and renamed them as what is known today as Mexico. But before Spaniards stepped on to the land, it was occupied by Mayans, Olmecs, Toltecs, Aztecs, and many other small tribes. These civilizations had traditions were they would often sacrifice people to their Gods in order to appease them.
Spain cannot conquer pre-Columbian Meso-America in 1521, because that era ended in 1492. "The New Spain", delete "the". Delete "But". Change "colonized" to "colonizes" to maintain tense. In the last sentence, "were" changes to "where", no capitalize in "gods". "On to" changes to "onto" and insert "the" between "before" and "Spaniards". After "1821" insert a comma or connector like "and". Insert "In" before 1521. Insert comma or connector between "Spain won". Change "them as" to "themselves as" or "the nation as". Yes, it is pretty bad, because you seem not to have learned much grammar, punctuation, spelling. or sentence structure in 12 years of school. Don't feel bad, I have seen college juniors do worse. Get a word processor that has a decent grammar/spell checker. Get a good classmate to proofread your work.

Mysterious mayan What do you think is the most intriguing fact about the Mayans?
The Mayans were and still are an amazing civilization. There are so many things that have been written about them, but there are many things that haven´t still be written about them New discoveries at El Mirador site were made recently that change in many ways what has been written about them.
So, what would you think is the most intriguing, mysterious, amazing, fact about the Mayans?
There were so many pre-Columbian groups including the Incas, Aztecs, Mayans, etc. What's very interesting is that they "seemed" to be in their heydey before the Spanish conquest. They built great structures, art, mysterious archecture, practiced agriculture, even astronomy. Now, you almost never hear of anything notable from their decendents. Question: What happened and why??
For the Mayans, it is probably the pyramids. The Incas had their terraglyphs and vast riches.

The World's Mysterious Places - Part 3
What if John McCain is right and Obama IS The One? God works in mysterious ways.
Jews, Muslims, and Christians look to a coming one. Many believers in many religions think we live in "the end times". How fitting that a black Muslim from black Africa should father a son with a white Christian woman from the heart of white America who would lead the world to the promised peace. Surely peace would mean a homeland for Palestine and for Israel. Muslims and Christians would worship one God in peace. Ancient Mayans thought the end would be 2012. Many evangelical Christian groups think these are the last days. Muslims look to a prophet who fulfills Mohammed. Christians look to one who brings the millennium. Jews look for the Messiah. John McCain's teasing might really be the voice of an earlier straight-talker, a John called the Baptist. What if Obama is in fact the anticipated one? The idea of one world in peace might be coming. Something to think about which might make sense of all the differences.
Ancient maya Modern Maya usage of Ancient sites and monuments?
Does anyone have any insight, specifically links to articles that discuss how modern Maya people use physical artifacts from ancient Mayan cultures? I can't seem to find any info.
For the most part, the ancient sites are guarded by the governments of the countries where these are located. So the great monuments cannot be used by the local people. However, they do continue some of the ancient traditions. Perhaps this is what you had in mind. Perhaps if you looked up that sort of thing on Google you might have better luck. Begin by going to Google, then typing in Maya, and then go to the various websites and read what they provide you. If I were you, I would only go to sites that appear to be from universities and/or colleges. If it sounds like it's somebody's garage or basement, I wouldn't bother. Personally, I haven't researched this topic, so I cannot be any more specific, but that's my typical procedure for others.
