2012 Is it going to be the end of the world? because i have heard about it and about planet x?
And what is going to happen because i am pretty scared
No, it isn't. Don't let it worry you. It is all a big pile of crap. The whole thing started out with unqualified people (Jose Arguelles and Zecharia Sitchen) misinterpreting the Mayan calendar and ancient Sumerian writings about the planet Jupiter. Then a woman who thinks she hears messages from aliens in her head (Nancy Lieder) decided to hijack Sitchen's imaginary planet (Nibiru) for her alien fantasies. She said this planet would return in 2003. Then, when it failed to show up, she just changed her doomsday to 2012 to agree with Arguelles misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar. It has been all downhill from there. People keep tacking on new fantasies, none of which have a shred of scientific validity.
They make up new scenarios of doom faster than scientists can debunk them, and they actually claim that scientists are saying these things. No scientist is claiming any doomsday scenario for 2012. Also, all the claims of prophecies for 2012 are false. No one predicted it before this bunch of scam artists started it to make money. Unfortunately, the History Channel, which used to be a reputable information source, gave up their credibility for better ratings and jumped on the 2012 bandwagon. Too many kids believe everything they see on the internet and are unable to discern a reputable scientific website from a crackpot one.
So now we have aliens and nuclear war added to the long list of things that won't happen. We have been under the threat of nuclear war since the 1950's. I lived through the Cuban Missile Crisis, expecting the missiles to start flying at any moment. That was the closest we ever came to nuclear war. People babbling about North Korea drowning missiles doesn't bother me.
If aliens were coming, there is no way we could know it was going to happen. This whole pile of garbage just keeps growing. Don't worry about it. It is just people making money off books, advertising, "survival kits", and whatever else they can dream up to sell.

Planet X Question? End of the world 2012?
Ok so you know how they say the end of the world will happen in 2012... bc of Planet X. In ur opinion do you think its a load or crap or do you think its true?
The Mayan Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That's all there is to it. The Mayans themselves never predicted the end of the world would happen at that time.
All the doomsday predictions attached to this date are, without exception, unscientific nonsense, perpetrated by frauds and hoaxers.

Instead of simply repeating nonsense from crackpot websites, please do some checking for yourselves. There is no scientific proof for any of this. The Earth stopping for 3 days? Give us a break. As for this date of 15th May 2009 when Nibiru will become visible, I hope you will post a message here on the 16th saying that you're sorry to have misled people. Actually, I am quite pleased when the cranks come up with a precise date like this because it gives the rest of us the opportunity to demonstrate what a bunch of liars they are when nothing appears - as you can be certain will be the case.
Richy, please come back and post your promised links. I take it they will be links to accredited scientific organisations such as NASA and the Minor Planet Center and not crank websites?
