Do you think the world as we know it will end in 2012? Why or why not?


Now that I have a child of course things like that scare me. I tend to believe everything I hear, but there seems to be so much evidence that it might end in 2012. What do you think?

People believe this rubbish because the Mayan calender ends then...but let's think about this: What does our calender do when it ends? IT STARTS OVER.

How is this not the end of the world as we know it?


We have the crisis in Israel that started recently and is not going to end anytime soon, the United States is heading to a worse situation than the Great Depression, the world economy as a whole is worsening, the War on Terror is going poorly, etc. I think we are screwed and that there is no way out.

I agree with the Mayans and Nostradamus that the world will end in 2012. There is no way that we will last much longer.
The world is so screwed up that I have a hard time comprehending how we ended up where we are know in the first place. It is sickening.

The world has always been screwed up. Look what the Nazi's did in WWII for gods sake. Also don't read into stuff so much our economy is in bad shape,but it is not the worse since the great depression. Do some research on the unemployment rate during the Carter administration,as well as the gas shortage,inflation,and interest rates. The Carter administration was the closest we ever got to the great depression. Not to say it won't get worse now,but we are still a long way from there.

Anybody ever read that "Left Behind" series?
If you haven't.....read it .... it's brilliant!
It's not really 'preachy' and interesting as all hell.

As for me .....I am SO gonna be 'left behind'!
If not for the religious aspects then simply because of my notorious bad luck.
I'll be like that minister in the books, his entire church was taken in the Rapture.... everyone but but him.

So I'm ready for it! Bring it on!

No more shaving my legs.
I get to sleep in.
Take in some traveling.
Get caught up on my reading.
Get a sun tan.
I'm looking forward to it.

I've learned how to water proof matches.
I know where the nearest Hummer dealer is ...cuz with the end of the world, it's gonna be FREE.... and I don't have to purchase insurance.
I've learned how to purify water.
I've been brushing up on my first aide.
I've been reading up on survival tactics and building shelters.
How to fish with items from a sewing kit.
I've been watching a lot of Bear and his survival adventures on TV.
Now I know how to pee on my t-shirt and tie it around my head in the desert so I don't get heat stroke and how to cut the skin off of a dead sheep and turn it inside out to make a warm, comfy sleeping bag.
I'm gonna look really, really cute in all that commando gear!

Why do more and more people seem to be endorsing 2012 as the date for the end of the World?


Simply because of the Mayan Calendar, Doesn't the Bible State that No man knows when the end will come except God the Father? In that case the world would end only if God decides it is going to be 2012 when the world as we know it ends. Do people who believe in God endorse the Mayan Prophesy simply because everybody else is doing it?

Believe 2012 will be the end of the world as we know it?


Lol I don't believe this, but when I was reading about it on Wikipedia, I found myself intrigued. It seemed cool to me because on December 12, 2012 (12/12/12) I will turn one quarter of a century old, that's just cool. Also, the date that the end is supposed to happen is December 21, 2012, 21 in reverse is 12!!! Lol AND 21 is my lucky number... randomly, every year in school, elementary and high school, I was number 21 on the attendance list.... Just putting it out there, I may be the Chosen One!!! The chosen one to die first and/or only, or the chosen one who will... just be chosen LOL
Don't hate, just because I'm better than you!!!!

Will the world as we know it end in the year 2012?


I was reading the Peruvian Bible and it says that in the year 2012, there will be tall, white, bearded, aliens on horse backs (I think this is metaphorical) who will bring death, disease, great destruction, and result in extinction of the human race.

After we are gone they will take all the precious metals such as platinum, gold, silver, uranium, etc. and leave for their home.

After that the earth will have 100,000 years of peace.

Octopus will develop the ability to live on land and become intelligent and become technologically very advanced and rule the earth.

Unlike humans they are peaceful,cooperative, and not greedy, and develop technology rapidly. When the aliens return, the octopus race repels the aliens and tell them never to return to earth.

Do you think the History Channel will like this story?
