Question about the Mayans and 2012? I know you are probably tired of these questions but please answer?
Have the Mayans had any predictions in the past that HAVE NOT come true?
They predicted when was the best time to plant their crops and a few repeatable astronomical events, but that's about it. A bunch of nutjobs trying to claim that the Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012 like to embellish their claims with all sorts of lies about the Mayans - never a wrong prediction, calendar the most accurate ever, etc. It's all a load of baloney.
The Mayan Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That's all there is to it. It's the same as our calendar changing from 1999 to 2000.
All the doomsday predictions attached to this date are, without exception, unscientific nonsense, perpetrated by frauds and hoaxers.

They have discovered how the calender works, not necessarily what it means.
The rumor of the world ending is that a rumor, however it is true that the calender will resent in the year 2012, December, etc etc.
I'm not sure if the history channel told you how the calander works, but if it doesn't feel free to message me and I'll explain the best I can.
The world will not end in the sence that the world will be blown up or something. I'm almost certain that you will have heard of horoscopes and the star signs by which you determine your horoscope, at the same time the calander resets the world will move from the star sign it is in right now in to the next star sign. I am unsure whether this is conicidence or not, it is up to you to determine for yourself if it is.
No where in any of that was there actually a theory. WAG's out the wazoo, but no theories.
December 21, 2012 is a date that is prominent in many ancient cultures and their prophecies – Lakota Indians, Mayans, Hopi Indians, Chinese, Greek and Indian 'seers' have all referred to a time of great upheavel in the earth in 2012. The alignment of the earth, sun, and the center of the galaxy could result in the magnetic shift you mention.
The Mayan calendar only signifies the end of a cycle – not the end of the world. Even the Bible talks of the 'end of the Age', following the collapse of a world government, followed by a 1000-year period of peace under the earthly rule of Jesus.
Whatever the signs, prophecies, and predictions, I believe we need to prepare ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Nothing stays the same forever, and to think that we are invincible here in the US is to ignore history and common sense. There are factors, political, economic, and natural, which are increasing and placing the entire world in a state of transition. To ignore all of them and continue with your head in the sand is not wise. The signs of a coming global government are the most obvious. That is our immediate danger. In 2012, if there are other natural calamities, nobody can stop those – but we still have time to say no to global government.
So with snooki now being pregnant I think we should take the mayans 2012 predictions a little more serious #Damn
