Most of the colleges on your list are selective –some of them very much so. Florida and Illinois, of course, give preference to state residents, as does Michigan. Ann Arbor is a nationally ranked university — a public Ivy — that is VERY hard for even state residents to get into. I don't know much about Florida, but Urbana-Champaign is the flagship university of the Illinois state system (I live in Chicago, by the way), and its reputation is just fine.

If music is your thing (or philosophy), then Oberlin and Grinnell would be good places for you. They are small, very intellectual schools that tend to attract smart people who march to a slightly different drummer.

If you're attracted to the sciences (including Psychology) and want a more generally sophisticated, cosmopolitan university experience, then Northwestern and Johns Hopkins would be excellent places. They, too, are very selective.

Now, I have a relative who actually IS an audio engineer, and he completed his degree at Rensselaer Polytech in a program that combines the arts and technology. He's quite interested in music and wanted to be a rock star, but practicality won out. You might take a look at RPI.

Astrophysics? Well, you need to look at top schools in that field. See below.

I can't tell you what to choose to study, but I can tell you that a science major and a music minor (or even a double major) could work very well together. Science and music rather complement each other, as Albert Einstein knew.
