IS the end of the world in 2012?


I heard that harold camping and the news said it going to be end of the world in october 2011 and 2012

is it true tell me as soon as possible

No, there is no scientific evidence or even theological evidence to support the claim that the end of the world is in 2012.
Harold Camping 'predicted' the end of the world this year and obviously that didn't happen. Every single claim for the end of the world has been false, and in Theology they claim that it is impossible to know when the world will end as only God knows such information.

The world ay end in 2012, but that would be by pure coincidence, if the world keeps on going the way it is we have a few billion years left!

World ending?! Please answer! Confused!?


Ok, i'm an agnostic as i'm only young. Apparently it's 'judgement day' on May 21st, tomorrow? What it it? I've been told it's when Jesus returns to guide the people who believe in God to heaven, and the people who are unsure or don't believe to hell? And on the 21st of October 2011 the world will end because of fire? But what about 2012, when the world is supposed to end then?! Really confused, as it was supposed to end in 2000 aswell? Please answer as much as you know!

No, it isn't. That was made up by Harold Camping, who has made a career of making false predictions for judgement day. He has predicted this for five previous dates; 3 dates in 1994, 1 in 1995, and 1 in 1996. Considering his 100% failure rate, there is no reason to be concerned.

Also, if you believe in judgement day, you apparently believe in the Bible and in Jesus. Since Jesus said no one will know the date, not even Him or the angels, but only God, then either Harold Camping or Jesus is wrong or lying. Who would you believe, Jesus or a crazy old man who has made five previous false predictions?

He didn't claim the world was going to end then. He says that is going to be the rapture and that the world will end October 21. When you don't see people disappearing on Saturday, you can dismiss this nonsense.

Who believes? Camping and his deluded followers.
Who doesn't? Every rational person on the planet.

The end of the world will inevitably be the Sun reaching the end of its cycle and expand, destroying the earth. Is this what will happen?
@ Oscars: The sun will explode, its scientificly proved that as long as the suns are stars then it will happen.
If God ends the world then that contradicts. If god blessed us with the gift of life why is he going to end the world?

It isn't. Thr rest of your question is not understandable. Scientists have NOT predicted any catastrophic events for 2012. The doomsday “prediction” nonsense is all the work of hoaxers with something to sell.
The Mayans didn’t predict it and their calendar doesn’t end. It is just the end of this cycle and the start of a new one.
Nostradamus didn’t predict it. He never mentioned 2012.
Mother Shipton didn’t predict it.
The Bible never mentions 2012 or any specific time.

Nibiru was reinvented by Zecharia Sitchen from old Sumerian references to Jupiter. He didn’t say it would return in 2012. He said it would return in 2085. The supposed Nibiru collision was dreamed up in 1995 by Nancy Lieder, who claims to channel messages from extra-terrestrials from the Zeta Reticuli star system.
Mark Hazlewood, who has no scientific background, wrote "Blindsided, Planet X Passes in 2003, Earth Changes!" His claims about Planet X based are based on his interpretations of Sitchin’s nonsense. Sitchen’s degree is in Literature. He has no science credentials.
Then we have Jose Arguelles, who has a degree in Art and Aesthetics. He thinks he is the reincarnation of a Mayan priest and announced to the UN and the Vatican that the world was required to convert to the Mayan calendar or be declared “Enemies of the Biosphere.” Hmmm.
I believe his catastrophe was originally to take place in 1995. Do we really want to take the word of people like this instead of scientists?
Planet X was a name that was used by astronomers when looking for an unknown planet. The doomsday hoaxers decided to use it as a real planet and predicted that it was to hit Earth in 2003. When it didn't show up, they moved it out to 2012 to tie it in with the end of this cycle of the Mayan calendar.
The Sun isn’t going to be aligned with the center of the galaxy.
The “planetary alignment” is only the way they appear in our view of the sky, not a real alignment.

As for web bots predicting it, Web bots crawl the web to catch new and existing web sites and detect relevant keywords. With all the garbage about 2012 on the internet, what else would you expect it to say? Remember the old computer adage: garbage in, garbage out.

Is it safe to say that all of the "end times" prophecies can be disproven simply by saying that...?


...they're so vague that it's likely that many if not all of these things would have happened at some point in our history anyway? Also, with some, it's downright impossible to tell if they are coming true. Are there other, better ways to prove they're phony? Fellow atheists, have you ever analyzed EVERY Bible prophecy that Christians think concerns "the last days" for yourselves? What conclusions did you come to?

Frankly, I'm tired of this "prophecy-fulfillment" crap. It's essentially egotistical.

I will tell you in no uncertain terms what will happen.

A gross misunderstanding about the nature of gravity has left this natural phenomenon overlooked. Gravity is everywhere, it pre existed before the physical universe was created, it created the physical universe. Gravity is attracted to matter, passes through it and moves on. Gravity from the galactic center is focused by our sun to a focal point, this is similar to how a magnifying glass focuses light, it gets very hot at the focal point. This is an invisible phenomenon that no one has even considered looking for, but it is mentioned in the bible, and by the mayan dresden codex, water is symbolically used to describe the gravitational waveform. When precession comes into alignment the earth will move into this focal point, it will be as if another planet were very close to the earth. "A star will rise in the east, and none will see it coming", it will appear on that day as a star with a tail, this is caused by the way it draws light to it. It was described by the babylonians to as the "seat of Marduk", the christians "the word of god", or "sword of god".

Now to get prophetic, i had 3 dreams on one night, i rarely remember my dreams but 3 at once:

In the first, the earth is covered by fire and plague,

In the second, a man is tormenting everyone, he is the ring master in a circus, he throws balls at everyone,

In the third, The spirits of the ancient dead rise and inhabit the bodies of the living and walk as zombies on the earth.

Im quite happy to accept i have been reading too many stories, but it seemed a coincidence to me and i don't believe in coincidence.

None, actually, unless you count the ones that are so vague, they have continuously happened for 2000 years.
