where it comes from the Mayan prophecies?
is there any something written about the mayan and their prophecies? their predictions about earthquakes and 2012 and the axes of Earth and stuff like that
I am mexican and I never heard of Mayan prophecies until the last year..
Recently, I have been trying to figure out where these suppose Mayan prophecies came from.
What I have discovered was that a majority of 2012 is lies that white new agers created to exploit the Mayan culture to exploit ignorance.
Actually the Mayans are pretty upset that people think their ancestors predicted the end of the world.
There were many calendars. Each had a different purpose.
If you use the program burden of Time, you'll see that it is just the end of the 12 Baktun cycle and the beginning of 13 Baktun. The last Baktun is the 20th, but that isn’t until 4771.

Mayan prediction abouit 2012?
alright, I have been hearing a bunch of things about the earth ending in 2012 but none of it seems logical. The Mayans predicted this and many others things and yet they didn't predict their own demise. I think it is abunch of poppycock to scare the crap out of little children and to cause ulcers. What do you guys think?

they also predicted that earth life was going to end on 6/6/06 and yet here we are 2/12/08, living and well.
I do not have the ulcer, my 13 year old sister does. She is sorta woried about this, thus my reasonings for proving it wrong.
there was no such prediction. others have reinterpreted the mayan calendar particularly the fact that it ended in 2012, as some sort of apocalypse. in fact the mayans believed that time was cyclical, not linear. to them, there was no 'end' to time. a new cycle perhaps, but not an end. it is all unconciously mixed up with western christian eschatology. and as you point out, their civilisation collapsed centuries ago. who knows but maybe they would have gotten around to drawing up another calendar by now. in the modern age, who worries about when the seasons will come in 3500 AD?
