What other things have the Mayan's predicted?
Are there any other examples of things the Mayans have predicted which have either come true or not?
Because I haven't seen anything like this from the Mayans before, and so I don't understand what all the hype is about for 21/12/12.
Nostradamus had predicted the end of the world many times, yet I never remember any hype about his prophecies!
Why should we believe the ancient ramblings of this tribe?

POLL: If seers are real, and psychics do exist, is the Bible a product of these?
I believe the Bible to be, not of God's word, but truths about future events twisted to fit the King's desires, i.e. control society. What if prophecy is true, but God coming down from all sides at all times is a massive meteor that takes out most of the world? I think it is more likely to be Nostradamus type of writings that have merit, but are twisted in to fear mongering. All I want to know is do you believe this as a strong possibility? POLL
My first mistake is not accepting the Bible for what it is? You mean trust my life to some mystical book of rules? I believe in a God, but I do not believe in any man made religion. Ethnocentrism applies to religions too, people.!
That's pretty close to what I believe. What I see is that Christians actually DO believe in psychics, seers, soothsayers, witchcraft and all that, but they only reject it when it's outside their religion. Inside the religion they call it prophecy, prayer, callings and ministries of various sort, etc.
The only difference I see is whether the power is attributed to God.
